Only in God do we find true rest

"Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for yourselves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light." (Matthew 11:28–30) These words of Jesus from the Gospel of Matthew form one of the most tender and intimate invitations issued by the Lord to the human heart. Addressed to the weary, the burdened, and the overwhelmed, this call is not simply to receive comfort but to enter into a relationship—an active discipleship rooted in Christ’s own meekness and humility. Christ does not offer an escape from labor or responsibility, but a transformation of the experience of burden itself.
