A triad of ethical directives

"You have been told, O mortal, what is good, and what the LORD requires of you: Only to do justice and to love goodness, and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8) Micah's profound declaration succinctly yet powerfully summarizes authentic religious life's ethical and spiritual core. Within this single verse, the prophet distills the heart of God's desire for humanity into a threefold mandate: justice, goodness (mercy), and humility.
